Help please regarding visa?
Hi,

I have applied for a Uk Spouse Visa. I am 25, husbands british and 30. I am american. My application is at LA Consulate at present and its been nearly 3 weeks. Reason why its taking time is because they have to wait on a report from Home Office regarding my previous overstay, then they can make a decision about issuing the visa.

I overstayed a visitor visa back in 2004. It was a lengthy overstay, 4 years, I was honest and disclosed everything about it in my application and explanation letter. I also had a refused entry back in May when I tried to re enter just to pick up some last personal belingings, but the Immigration officer did not believe i was genuinly married which was irritating. But understandable that I would get refused entry because of the previous overstay history as well.

I submitted all papers recieved from Heathrow airport regarding my refused entry. I did not use anykind of deception, nor was I deported or done anything illegal during overstay, other then the overstay which obviously was wrong, but I explained why that happened clearly in my letter.

They are waiting on a report back from Home Office. They sent my application there, and I am curious as to what they are waiting for specifically.

Also, I am nervous if I am going to get this or not. Anyone have any positive feedback? Storys? I have been married over 5 years, everything else in my application was pretty good…husbands working, earning salary, has his own place, we provided all proof of these things.

Please, no ignorant rude comments. I would appreciate some TRUE advice/opinions.

Honestly,with an overstay that large.I’m sure they are investigating what you did during that time.Having said that I don’t think I can give any good opinions or advice.You have to understand YOU are the one who overstayed & truthfully speaking the climate in the UK concerning immigration to that country isn’t exactly the best right now especially with the immigration rules getting even tougher on NON-Eu nationals to immigrate there.

I’m leaning towards you being denied the benefit even if you are married to a UK citizen.I know for a fact if someone overstays their time here in the US & returned like what you did they would be barred from re-entry for 10 years.I believe the Uk has implemented something similar,but not as harsh.

Yea, I realize I can connect a laptop and a monitor. I have two laptops though, not a laptop and a monitor.

Regardless, what I’m thinking is for the mac, usb vga adapter and then I can get a vga to vga cord (both male) and connect to the adapter and my pc. thoughts?

im not sure if you can connect another laptop screen, but you can connect a seperate monitor, then go to you display settings and set it up.

the dinner menu will have more meat as the price increases for the dinner buffet than for the lunch buffet.that is the big difference between lunch and dinner.. wish we had hometow/old country down here in florida, not any good buffets down here, but every time we go back to ohio we for stop at hometown. there are no old countrys in my old city, there was but closed and I know they are owned by same company but wasn’t enough business for 2 of the same.

My Mom died of breast cancer 11 days ago. I have been doing the Thanksgiving prayer since I was 10. I am now 40. There is so much to say in just a few minutes. I am looking for help to either write a new prayer or borrow someone else’s.

I lost a good friend 3 years ago, and it still hurts like ti did when i first heard he was dead..

At his funeral, i didn’t neccisarily pray, i made a speech. It cam from my feelings, i ddin’t memorize it:

My daughter 22 months..pretty picky eater so I’m always looking for new ideas to get her more used to different foods. I don’t like recipes that take $30 to make one dish or take an hour to prepare, the simpler the better.

I’ll share a few of mine that are so very easy and that my daughter loves:

English muffin pizza’s. English muffin, top w/ pizza sauce and mozz cheese, bake for 10 minutes at 450.

Baked mac and cheese. Milk, cheddar cheese, 2 or 3 cups dry macaroni and a lil butter, bake 1/2 hour or till done at 350.

Thick turkey slices from deli. Cook stuffing and place mix on turkey slice…roll, cover w/ gravy and bake at about 400 till done ( 20 minutes give or take )

My son really likes meatloaf and funeral potatoes. I have to be careful that the meal doesn’t end up with tons of salt, but it’s usually not too bad.

Any type of home-made pizza goes over really well too, especially when you use corn toritillas or pita bread as crust. I can use regular pizza sauce, spaghetti sauce, enchilada sauce, ranch dressing, even alfredo sauce. We make taco pizza with spaghetti sauce, seasoned ground beef, black beans, diced onion, green onions, red and yellow peppers, corn, and queso fresco. Ranch, chicken, blue cheese, complimentary veggies, and a bit of hot sauce makes a good buffalo chicken pizza.

My daughter’s favourite lunch is soup - which suits me fine cos I manage to get veggies into her that way! Granted, it’s more cooking time, but I make large pots and freeze into portions, so I only have to heat up a portion and serve with bread or toast. Her fave is sweet potato and carrot soup - which she calls, ‘orange soup’.
Peel and chop equal measures of carrots, sweet potatoes and onion (I do 1kg of each at a time, in a very big pot). Slow fry in butter for at least 20 mins. Cover with stock and leave to simmer for a further 20-30 minutes. Blend well and serve or freeze.

Failing that, she loves having what she calls a ’snack plate’. We give her a selection of crackers, cheese, cocktail sausages, sweetcorn, carrots, ham, grapes, breadsticks, humous etc (not all at once, of course! Just depends on what we have), and let her pick her way through it.

We do pizza bagels on occasion for lunches. My girls are 14 months old. Just pizza sauce on a bagel with some mozzarella on it. We typically keep pepperonis around the house as well

Chicken quesadias
grill chicken until done with a little chili powder on it (we buy the bags of boneless skinless)
Put chicken in the food processor to chop it up fine
take a flour tortilla and put it in a skillet on low heat
sprinkle half of it with the chicken and then add cheddar cheese or mexican blend and fold in half
flip after about 2 minutes to brown lightly on both side
cut into wedges with a pizza cutter

We also like using the jar of cheese con queso to make quesadias with, when I do this I spread it over the whole tortilla before putting it in the skillet.

My 14 month old son loves all of these -

Lunch:
Grilled ham and cheese sandwiches
Egg salad sandwiches
French toast

Dinner:
Elbow mac with cheese or alfredo sauce (from a jar)
Boiled chicken cut up in pieces
Meatloaf
Pierogies
Stuffing
Noodles
Veggies
Mashed potatoes

I buy frozen vegetables so it’s easy to pull out a couple of teaspoons and warm them up … you’re not opening a whole can that may go to waste. My son loves peas, corn, green beans and carrots.

To save time during the week, usually on Sundays I’ll boil up a few chicken breasts and a couple servings of elbow mac and put them in a container in the fridge. This way I can just heat the chicken up or put the pasta in a pan with whatever sauce … cheese, marinara, alfredo, and have a quick lunch. The other day I made elbow mac with alfredo sauce, peas and chipped ham, heated everything in the frying pan for 5 minutes, with some parmesan sprinkled on top … my son LOVED it. I got the idea from a dish at an Italian restaurant we went to recently. It was really easy.

My daughter will eat anything. LOL Which is great because she gets what we eat and nothing else. I dont have time to stand in the kitchen all day. I do however fix broccoli and cheese which i do not like but my daughter and husband love. Its like me and her like cooked carrots and my husband doesnt like them. Here are some of my ideas

breakfast burritos: scrambled eggs, real bacon bits and cheese. Put in a tortilla and roll. Make sure the cheese is at the bottom so the folds stay together. Pop it in the microwave for 25 seconds (for 1) Just enough for the cheese to melt. You can also put hashbrowns in it (cooked) I get the ones that have onions and green peppers in it.. I like it but my daughter doesnt care for it. Good Brunch Idea. Something easy when you running late.

cheesy potato chowder: boil your potatoes, onions and celery. Take out half of the potatoes and mash them. then put them back in the water.. Add a can of evap. milk and cook for about 15 minutes. Until nice and hot. add bacon bits and canned carrots in.. then put on low heat and add cheese and cook until all the cheese is melted. Its really good.

beans and weinies: Canned of bush’s baked beans (or any one that you like) slice up some hot dogs and cook over the stove until both is done.

then she likes the usual grilled cheese, diced lunchmeat and cheese cubes (she wont eat lunchmeat sandwiches, she will only end up picking everything off and not eating the bread) mac n cheese, meatloaf (her fav) also spaghetti (her fav).

Can i go to the cops and press charges?
So the other day i was at my buddies house playing euchre. My one buddy drove me there and there was no phone reception there. While playing this girl came up to me and cut my hair. I got a little mad but nothing out of control. Later she was asking me if she could shot me. So I walked away from the situation. I was sitting down reading a gun magazine on the other side of the garage minding my own business. She came up from behind me and slapped me in the head grinding some hand sanitizer in the side of my head. I ducked to stop this and she hovered above me continuing. In defense i grabbed the other arm above me and got up and turned it around her back. I told her to stop and she started kicking me. I told her to stop again and i let go of her and pushed her away. Thats when she punched me in the face. There was 5 other people watching this and one was video taping it so there is video evidence. I took a picture of my face and you can see where my face was swelling where i got hit. Now i have these people saying a touched her so if i go to the cops im getting busted. What are your thoughts and do you think i have a case here? Thanks in advance.
Another thing is that this kid has the video evidence and I dont. They said they would be glad to show it that I assaulted a girl on tape.
Also would like to add that I am 20 yrs old and so is the girl that hit me.

Sometimes the system can work against us when you see how the first person to file a complaint gets to watch the other go to jail first.

My suggestion is you immediately file a complaint with the police and provide them with the video evidence showing you were simply attempting to protect yourself.

Likewise, because the offense is a misdemeanor and the police were not physically there when the offense occurred…YOU will have to sign a warrant for the other persons arrest to get the case in court.

The police will provide their investigation and video tape to the District Attorney to help support your case against the other person!
