I thought that the "Curious Case of Benjamin Button" was supposed to be a really boring movie. I got a lot of bad reviews of it. I so wanna see Slumdog Millionaire! Coraline was good, but they added a character and it was a bit different from the book. My mom thought it was better than the book, actually. Wall-E was adorable! Iron Man I saw for my birthday and it wasn’t so bad.

Best:
1. Wall-E
3. Coraline
4. Pink Panther 2
5. Twilight
6. Cloverfield
7. TCN: Prince Caspian
8. Horton Hears a Who!
9. Get Smart
10. Valkyrie
11. The Dark Knight

Worst:
1. Marley and Me
2. Jumper
3. The Spiderwick Chronicles
4. The Incredible Hulk
5. Hancock
6. Eagle Eye
7. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

9. The Forbidden Kingdom
10. High School Musical 3
Fakeless | Mar 15, 2009

Best:
1 The Dark Knight
2 Wanted
3 The Strangers
4 The House Bunny
5 Prom Night
6 Kung Fu Panda
7 The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
8 Stop-Loss
9 Changeling
10 I can’t think of a tenth one so i’ll just say the one movie i have to see: MILK!

Worst:
1 The Women
2 Hannah Montana Concert Movie (Shot Me)
3 Burn After Reading
4 Swing Vote
5 Paul Blart: Mall Cop
6 The Unborn
7 What Happens In Vegas
8 Wall-E
9 High School Musical 3
10 I can’t think of a tenth one so i’ll say the movie i refuse to see: Jonas Brothers Concert Movie

I think your lists are mostly good except for two things

In your best list, Tropic Thunder was probably the worst comedy movie ever. And in your worst list, Four Christmases was a great movie with some bad actors. :) HeathLedger | Mar 15, 2009

Twilight and Hancock should be on the worst.

underworld: evolution sequel?
Okay, so I know the prequel to the Underworld movies came out, and that’s great and all. But is there any chance there’s gonna be a SEQUEL to Underworld: Evolution? I loveddddd the first and second ones and I wasn’t aware that Rise of the Lycans was going to be a prequal, pretty much until I saw it. I’m really hoping that there will be a sequel to Evolution, but I have no idea.

I think beckinsale is worried about leaving her career in there

worldwide surprise | Oct 17, 2009

Rumors are that there will be a sequel in 2011, but I think it will fill in the time between Rise of the Lycans and the first Underworld movie…. to show Victor killing Selene’s family and turning her into a vampire. Oh, and rumors say it will be in 3D.

Lycans died because they didnt promote it. I think it was the best in the series. I am thinking a sequel will end up in the direct to DVD with 1/2 the money they spent on any of the prior films. Really sad.

I don’t know for sure but they are planning on making a fourth Underworld movie.

Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope….archetypes!?
I’m sorry but I’m not a Star War’s fan. In fact, I haven’t seen any of the movies because I actually wanted to. During english, I was pretty much falling asleep so from my understanding, Princess Leia is a damsel in distress. I heard my teacher say that she wasn’t actually that archetype. What is she then??? She was helpless and was begging for help in that robot looking thing where she sent signals and that Luke dude saved her so didn’t that make her a damsel in distress? What other type of archetype is she?

She really isn’t a damsel in distress. The part that you are referring to she was simply asking for help, she wasn’t helpless at all. Throughout the movies she is actually quite proactive and is an essential part to the Rebellion. She is a good fighter and a good leader. She would be a model leader or strong female heroin which is probably what you teacher was talking about.

Federer Fan (15 Majors) THE GOAT | Sep 02, 2009

It is true that she was begging for help in the hologram message stored in R2D2 memory. But if you see the whole movie you will notice that in several scenes it is she who saves Han, Luke, and Chewie.

Why do some people hate Cesar Millan, even though he saves dogs every day?
My friend sent me some links to pages that are written by people who absolutely HATE Cesar Millan. I’m so amazed. The vituperative and hateful tone is incredible. I’ve watched the show and I’ve read his books. He is a brilliant dog psychologist and truly understands dog psychology. He knows how to approach a dog in a way that the dog understands and responds to.

I have incorporated his techniques in dogs I work with who have behavioral problems. His techniques work splendidly - and the dogs are happy and well adjusted. I always follow up with my clients 6 AND 12 months later. Since I started using Cesar’s techniques for behavioral problems, the dogs who have issues are much better adjusted - and adjusted much more quickly than before. I’ve used a lot of techniques and use a lot of praise and reinforcement. I’ve trained countless dogs - there is no one even close to as effective as Cesar Millan when it comes to behavior problems.

I’ve seen fearful dogs gain confidence and aggressive dogs become good citizens - without fail. I cannot understand what these people’s problems are. Are they actually WATCHING the show? Are they READING the books? Are they really paying attention? Some of the rubbish I read about him gave the strong impression that the writer actually had not paid attention to what Millan does. There are so many mistruths about him - outright lies, I guess.

So my question is this: why do we humans become rabid fanatics when it comes to our own personal beliefs about dogs? Why do we display such a profound dedication to remaining ignorant and forming strong opinions based on guess and histrionics? My wife is a psychologist - she says it’s because people are very defensive about animals in the same way they are defensive about their child rearing techniques. Sounds like a pretty good theory to me. My brother says it’s because people just don’t like a Mexican doing so well. I don’t know about that. I’m white and most people I know are white - I’ve never heard that. And my best friend, also a dog trainer, says it’s jealousy, plain and simple. Now I’m really curious about this.

Are there any other ideas out there? Seriously - the things I read on those websites were just not true, and the writers were zealous and fanatical. Why would these people do this? And has anyone here ever met him? I would like to some day - what’s he like in person?

I think he’s great!

Just think about all of those dogs he’s saved!

:-) Brandon | Jan 31, 2010

Yeah, I watched the show. Absolutely nothing that you cant find with millions of other REAL trainers. He is a TV Personality..NOT a trainer…

And I’d like to personally see who he "saves" on a daily basis…ha ha!

Unlike you, I dont believe EVERYTHING I read or see on TV

As for jelaousy? I’m no more jelaous of him than I am on any other 3rd rate actor on TV
Bells IS Suspended | Jan 31, 2010

People obviously don’t have lives! A bunch of good for nothing haters… And he’s Mexican, that makes him extra ok to me. Anyone disagree? Die slow
Crys | Jan 31, 2010

I do not necessarily agree with his training methods, and I do not agree with the "miracle"-esque production values of the programme, but you’re right, he DOES do a lot of good in this world and that is why I will never spout hatred towards him. He has a rescue organisation, and he along with his team does a lot of rehab work. If you can see past the television show, there is no reason to hate the man.
Bernese Love *Now uses Y!M* :) | Jan 31, 2010

I think you are asking 2 questions - why do people get defensive about their dogs’ behaviour and why do people dislike Cesar’s techniques.

I can’t address the first issue, but my partner’s experience shows that for those who care about their dogs well being and behaviour there is a better way, that can be done by everyone safely and with great success.

Cesar’s a charismatic guy but his techniques are seriously flawed and downright dangerous in the wrong hands

Get hold of "The Dog Listener" by Jan Fennell and you’ll see what can be done with a little thought.
Richard | Jan 31, 2010

I think he’s amazing. His techniques might be disliked, but they’re much better than the simpering cuddles and treats way lots of dog trainers work.

The main reasons I can think of that people dislike him-
1. It’s ‘cruel’. I don’t think his methods are cruel. It’s how it would work i the wild. Much more natural.
2. People prefer to think of themselves as the dog’s mummy of daddy, rather than the ‘pack leader’ they should be.
3. Cesar illegally went to AMerica at first. It says in his book.

To be honest, I think he’s just an ordinary man that understands dogs properly. He’s saved many from being put down and rescued dogs after disasters like hurricanes and such. He’s always very careful and warns that some of his techniques could be dangerous if not used properly. There is nothing wrong with him!

Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The (2008)

IMDB rating: 8.20

Plot: On the day that Hurricane Katrina hits New Orleans, elderly Daisy Williams nee Fuller is on her deathbed in a New Orleans hospital. At her side is her adult daughter, Caroline. Daisy asks Caroline to read to her aloud the diary of Daisy’s lifelong friend, Benjamin Button. Benjamin’s diary recounts his entire extraordinary life, the primary unusual aspect of which was his aging backwards, being born an old man who was diagnosed with several aged diseases at birth and thus given little chance of survival, but who does survive and gets younger with time. Abandoned by his biological father, Thomas Button, after Benjamin’s biological mother died in childbirth, Benjamin was raised by Queenie, a black woman and caregiver at a seniors home. Daisy’s grandmother was a resident at that home, which is where she first met Benjamin. Although separated through the years, Daisy and Benjamin remain in contact throughout their lives, reconnecting in their forties when in age they finally match up. Some of the revelations in Benjamin’s diary are difficult for Caroline to read, especially as it relates to the time past this reconnection between Benjamin and Daisy, when Daisy gets older and Benjamin grows younger into his childhood years.

why do you need these? there’s way to many, i doubt to many people are going to answer.
if you’ve seen the movies, they’ll be pretty easy to figure out…

Wow. That list is REALLY long. Like the first answerer said, why do you need these?
In Finding Nemo, Marlin (Nemo’s dad) goes through a lot of anxiety while looking for his son.
Alice from Alice in Wonderland (I really wanted to check if you had that one; I love that movie) seems to have a little anxiety, since she’s having trouble following the skewed logic of Wonderland citizens.
As for other characters from movies near the top of the list, they seem to feel a little depressed and incomplete, like Mulan (felt that she was a disgrace to her family), Tigger (in The Tigger Movie, he didn’t have a family and felt really sad), Beast (in Beauty and the Beast, he’s scared that nobody will like him because he’s pretty darn ugly), etc. You can just watch some of these movies again (it’s fun, trust me) or at least think about the ones you remember fairly well.

Alice in Wonderland
Alice in Wonderland (1985)

IMDB rating: 7.10

Plot: Classic tale of a girl named Alice who follows a white rabbit down a hole into Wonderland, where she can change sizes by eating and drinking and animals talk. After escaping the disturbing Queen of Hearts, she finds that she has ended up on the other side of the looking glass in Looking Glass Land and that there is a mind-created Jabberwocky after her. With the advice of a wise owl and royal chess pieces on her mind, she ventures home, vowing to grow up in this two-part movie which remains most faithful to the original stories written by Lewis Carroll.
